Every driver starts somewhere
Today’s novice driver could be a young adult, a new Canadian, a neighbour, friend or coworker.
They follow the same rules and share the same goal as you do: getting to their destination safely.

Patience prevents problems
A calm road is a safer road. When you encounter a novice driver on the road, small choices can make a big difference:
- Leave space. Extra room gives everyone time to react.
- Signal early. Clear cues keep traffic moving smoothly.
- Pass with care. Change lanes only when legal and safe.
- Pause the horn. Use it for safety, not frustration.
- Show respect. Courtesy (on the road and online) builds a safer driving culture.

Kindness is a driving skill
Every driver benefits when we keep our cool, make deliberate moves, and give each other the space to learn and improve.
When you model patience, you make driving safer for everyone. When you rush or crowd, you add risk.
Practice patience while they practice driving.
That’s how we all get home.
