Deductibles for motorcycles

For optional comprehensive coverage, you can choose a $200 or $500 deductible. If you purchase a $200 deductible package for comprehensive coverage, you will not pay a deductible if your motorcycle is vandalized. For collision coverage, you can choose a $500, $300, $200 or a $100 deductible. You can buy comprehensive and collision coverage together or separately.

FAQ

Q
Is my deductible automatically waived if my car is stolen?
A
If you have a $100 or $200 deductible, your deductible is waived if your vehicle is stolen. If you have a $300 or $500 deductible, your deductible is reduced by half if an approved anti-theft device is in use and defeated. Examples of approved devices are steering wheel locks, alarms, and immobilizers.
Q
My car was damaged when I hit a deer. Do I have to pay my deductible?
A
If you have a $100, $200 or $300 deductible, your deductible is waived when there is proof that your vehicle was struck by wildlife. With a $500 deductible, your deductible is not waived or reduced.
Q
My car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver. Why do I have to pay my deductible even if I paid extra to have it lowered?
A
In order for your deductible to be waived for any collision loss, there has to be another person with insurance to pay that amount. If we don’t know who hit your vehicle, we cannot charge their insurance to pay your deductible.
Q
What is considered vandalism?

AVandalism is considered an intentional, malicious act that damages your vehicle. A police report must be filed for vandalism claims.

  1. Vandalism does not include partial theft. A partial theft occurs when a permanently attached item (e.g. tires, car top carriers) or installed electronics items/stereo are stolen from a vehicle.
