Running Amber Lights

Traffic lights are a universal tool that help control the flow of traffic.

An amber light warns drivers the light is going to turn red. When you see an amber light, slow down and stop if safe. Never accelerate to make the light. Running an amber light can cause a deadly collision and doesn’t get you to your destination any faster.

If you’re already in the intersection when the light turns amber, continue through.

If you speed through the light at one intersection, you could easily get stopped at the next light anyway.

Be patient and stop for amber lights. And when you get the green light, check for traffic travelling through the intersection before you proceed.
