Who, Where, and When One Can Bid

Bidders must be 18 or older--picture ID may be required.

Bidders must be registered for the auction and have a bidding number--As of April 2, 2011 this requires a $400 deposit by cash, VISA, MasterCard or debit card.

Preparing for the Auction

  1. Examine the vehicle or other salvage item beforehand, to make sure it's what you want. You can view salvage on auction days--which are Wednesdays in Winnipeg-- from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  2. Register for the auction and get a bidding number. A $400 deposit by cash, MasterCard, VISA or debit card is required--refunded to you if you don't buy anything. Manitoba Public Insurance keeps the deposit if a bidder cancels a purchase or doesn't meet payment requirements.
  3. Give us written authorization beforehand, if you're a permanent bidder, and you wish another bidder to replace you at the auction.
