Audit

Auditor I
Work Location: Winnipeg

Under close supervision, is responsible for the timely completion of less complex assigned audits producing accurate, complete and organized audit reports. This is an entry level audit position requiring training in corporate audit policies and procedures. Over time incumbent will be assigned or participate in more complex, confidential audits.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Fourth (4th) year standing in a recognized professional accounting course and two (2) years accounting experience
    - or -
  • Community College Diploma in Business Administration or a university degree with post-secondary level accounting courses and at least two (2) years physical damage or injury adjusting experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Special Skills and/or requirements:
  • knowledge of insurance industry and asset
  • some knowledge of auditing procedures
  • some knowledge of flow charting and computer systems an asset
  • ability to develop good communication skills (both orally and in writing)
  • supervisory ability
  • high degree of personal integrity and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • some travel may be required

Auditor II
Work Location: Winnipeg

Under general supervision, is responsible for the completion of assigned audits of varying complexity providing accurate, complete and organized audit reports. This is a full working level audit position where the incumbent is capable of being assigned the most confidential complex audits. Incumbent may direct the work of other auditors when responsible for an audit project.

Qualifications:

  • Education
  • Professional accounting designation of CA, CGA, CMA or CIA.(Certification in Internal Audit
  • Experience
  • Four (4) years of progressive internal audit experience in a large organization.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Special Skills and/or Requirements
  • extensive knowledge of auditing, internal controls, risk assessment, accounting, budgeting, economic analysis, statistics, fraud investigations, report writing and computer assisted audit techniques
  • good knowledge of project management, risk identification and risk mitigation processes, computer systems design and security and law
  • superior oral and written communications skills
  • high level of integrity to deal with confidential and sensitive issues
  • some travel is required
