Towing Safety 
If you’re planning a holiday vacation this summer that includes hauling a trailer, get there safely by remembering these road safety tips:
Road safety matters
- It’s illegal and unsafe to carry passengers in a moving trailer;
- when passing, allow for at least twice the normal passing distance and, when returning to the driving lane, allow for enough space for the trailer length;
- stay in the right lane as much as possible;
- drive at a speed that allows for twice the normal stopping distance;
- reduce speed when driving in extreme weather conditions (wind and rain);
- don’t drive on the shoulder.
