Share the joys of the season, safely
With holiday festivities shifting into
high gear, it's easy to forget to put
safety first while you're driving.
But with a little foresight and extra care on the road, your holidays can be memorable – for all the right reasons.
Prepare to take care:
- Winterize your car – it's not too late.
Among other things, a tune-up,
fresh oil, proper anti-freeze, and
winter tires will help keep you
rolling.
- Check your tires for proper
inflation.
- Keep these on hand: snow brush
and scraper, booster cables,
lock-deicer, flashlight (with extra
batteries), shovel and traction aids
like salt or mats.
- Leave early so you won't be tempted
to rush on slippery or snow-covered
roads.
- Remove any snow and ice covering
your car – not just from windows.
A highway trip? Stow these
for survival
- Candles and matches.
