Helmets can save lives
When worn properly, a helmet can reduce your risk of a head injury by 85 per cent. Whether you're heading out on a bicycle, ATV, or motorcycle, these tips will help keep you safe on the roads and trails:
Choose the right helmet

Make sure your helmet fits properly and is being used for the purpose it was intended. A bicycle helmet, for example, won't protect you in a collision on your motorcycle or ATV.
Buy it approved
Look for a sticker on your helmet that shows it has been approved by a recognized safety standards organization such as the CSA, Snell, ASTM or ANSI.
Ride Safely
While your helmet can reduce your risk of a head injury, your best defence against a collision is to ride safely, follow the rules of the road and watch for hazards.
