Put thieves on ice and enjoy the season
While the spirit of giving warms our hearts, thieves look at things quite differently.
If you've loaded your car with gifts from holiday shopping for family
and friends, it could become a target.
How to stop thieves from turning your holidays into humbug:
- Park where it's well-lit.
- Put valuables out-of-sight – in the trunk or hatch area.
- Close your windows fully and lock up before you leave.
- Leave no keys behind!
- Keep your personal information with you – including your vehicle registration and insurance.
- If you park in your garage, lock your garage doors too.
- To warn off potential car thieves, make sure your car has window stickers showing your car has an approved immobilizer. Get your free stickers at any of our Service Centres – no appointment needed!
