Road dangers rise on holiday weekend
According to Manitoba Public Insurance Collision Claims information, between 2005-2009, six people were killed and 512 injured in collisions during the August long weekend in Manitoba.
Fatigue, heavy traffic and too much sun can lead to poor driving decisions. And with so many more vehicles on the road, speeding and impaired driving become even larger problems
Help keep the roadways safe this long weekend by:
Please remember, alcohol can slow down your reaction time and if you're driving home late or after a day in the sun, you are probably already tired. Fatigue and alcohol make a deadly combination when you're driving. If you plan on drinking, arrange for a designated driver.
