Protecting your precious cargo

When should children move from a booster seat to a seatbelt? When can they sit in the front seat?

Booster seats

School Zones A booster seat does exactly what its name suggests – it boosts children up high enough so their seatbelt can cross their hips and chest properly and safely. Children should remain in their boosters until they measure 4' 9" in height or until they’re eight years old and weigh 36 kilograms(80 pounds).

Children should always ride in The Kid Zone

The back seat is known as the Kid Zone because it’s the safest place for a child 12 and under. Children sitting in the front seat may be injured when an airbag deploys during a crash.

Buckle Up

Remember, as a parent, guardian or caregiver, always make sure you secure both yourself and your precious cargo. Wear your seatbelt every time you get in your car, even if you’re only going a short distance.
