Make Winnipeg a winner during Grey Cup week
With the Winnipeg Blue Bombers playing in Sunday’s Grey Cup, Manitobans will be cheering on the home team at parties, bars and lounges across the province. But even though it’s a time of celebration, it’s important to remember it’s never OK to drink and drive.
“Keep it fun, but keep it safe,” says Clif Eden, Manager of Road Safety at Manitoba Public Insurance. “Do your part to keep our streets safe so Grey Cup 2007 can be remembered for all the right reasons.”
Impaired driving is a Criminal Code offence, and Manitoba’s drinking and driving laws have earned the province the highest approval rating in Canada from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Drivers whose blood alcohol content is between .05 and the legal limit of .08 will lose the right to drive for 24 hours.
“We want Manitobans to have a great time and enjoy the Grey Cup, but let’s do it safely and wisely,” says Eden. “If you’re impaired, don’t drive.”
