Renting a Car
Renting a car while on vacation can give you the freedom to see and do more while discovering another province or the US. But even a minor accident with a rented car can quickly turn your good times into bad.
Whether you rent a car in or out of Manitoba, before you do research the insurance options that will provide the appropriate coverage. In most cases buying car rental insurance ahead of time will save you money.
There are also things you can do to help avoid an accident:
- Plan your route ahead of time so you’re not looking at a map while driving
- Familiarize yourself with the vehicle before turning the key. This helps avoid distractions while driving
- If traveling with small children call ahead to ensure child car seats are available.
If you’re driving your own vehicle out of province or into the US, you may not be properly covered out of province. Check with your insurance broker.
