Motorcycles - Late Season Riding

Many motorcyclists enjoy late-season riding in the fall.

As drivers, it's important to watch for motorcycles, even when the temperature drops.

When following a motorcycle, give yourself more time to stop. Look twice when changing lanes or turning. There might be a motorcycle hidden behind the other vehicles.

Late Season tractionIf your windows are fogged up, the chances of seeing a motorcycle is reduced, so clean your windows before hitting the road.

Riders must also take extra precaution in the fall. Tire traction is reduced by the cooler temperatures, which could lead to a collision.

Frost and fallen leaves on the road can be dangerous and cause you to slip. So slow down, especially on curves or turns.

It's also important to dress for the cooler weather. If you're cold, you'll be less alert to make quick decisions.
