Motorcycle Awareness

Collisions between motorcycles and cars can result in serious injury and death. But these collisions can easily be avoided by following these steps:

Stopping distance
Motorcycles accelerate and stop much faster than cars and trucks. If you’re driving a vehicle, give yourself more stopping distance when following a motorcycle.

Take a second look
Most motorcycle collisions happen because the motorcycle wasn't seen. Sometimes it’s hard to see a motorcyclist at first, so take a second look when changing lanes or turning. There might be a motorcycle hidden behind the other vehicles. It only takes a few seconds, but it can save a life.

If you’re the one riding a motorcycle, ride in a safe and predictable manner. And make sure you’re visible to other drivers on the road.
