Eco Driving
Eco driving is a way to drive safely and at the same time get the most out of your vehicle’s gas tank. And it only requires making small changes in your driving style.
- Before heading out, plan ahead. If you can cut out the short trips and combine several activities into one trip, you will reduce your fuel consumption.
- Once on the road, accelerate gently and follow the speed limits. If you anticipate the flow of traffic within the speed limit, you will avoid unneccesary accelerating and decelerating which consumes more fuel.
- When you do have to come to a stop, do so gradually. Try coasting as much as possible to decelerate. For automatics, leave the transmission in gear and brake as required.
- For standards, downshift and brake as required.
Road tests have proven that by following these guidelines you can save up to 25 percent on fuel consumption.
