Drinking and Driving

There are plenty of good reasons not to drive after you've been drinking. The most important one-you could lose your life or take someone else's. Here are a few more reasons to stay sober behind the wheel.

The penalties for driving drunk in Manitoba are severe.

You'll be fined, and possibly jailed. You could lose your licence and your vehicle. Stop to consider how all this will impact your personal and professional life.

If you've been drinking, you are less likely to make a logical decision on your ability to drive home.

That's why it's important to make a plan not to drive at all if your evening out includes booze. Book a taxi ahead of time or arrange for a designated driver. You could also stay overnight or plan for a friend or family member to pick you up. Because there are no excuses for impaired driving.
