Facilities/Premises
Administrator
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under the direction of the Manager, the Facilities
and Property Administrators are responsible for providing infrastructure
implementation and planning and administration, to support corporate
initiatives as they pertain to the physical environment (i.e. offices,
furniture, cabling, communications, HVAC, security, property, work place
health & safety, etc.). The administrator provides leadership in
the areas of facilities planning and administration and property management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- University degree in Engineering or Interior Design or Architecture
-or-
- Post secondary education with a designation or certification in
a related field, i.e. CET, RPA, FMA, or CPM
- Experience:
- Seven to ten years practical property management experience
- Three years
project management experience in supervisory capacity
- Or an equivalent
combination of education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Ability to develop, interpret and
administer technical plans and projects, as well as manage multi-disciplined
projects and supervise
professionals and
technical people
- Ability to analyze problems, develop short
and long term solutions and
take control in emergency and crisis situations
- Negotiating and people skills
- Developing and managing multiple projects
at one time

Facilities
Design Co-ordinator
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under the direction of the Premises Manager
and Facilities Administrator, will provide space planning, programming
and interior design support to MPI Departments throughout the province.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum Grade XII
- Degree and/or diploma in the science of architectural
technology
- Training in:
- Manual and computer assisted drafting
- Facilities and Space Planning
- Construction Budgeting and Estimating
- The incumbent should be eligible
for registration or be a member of the AIAAC or PIDM
- Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in space planning,
drafting (manual and by CAD), incorporating all relevant codes and
landlord requirements, either on a consulting basis or in a
large office institution
- A minimum of three (3) years formal experience
in developing specifications drawings, negotiating with End-Users,
specifying products and materials , estimating construction budgets and
time frames,
etc.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience developing space
plans, utilizing Landscape Furniture Systems.
- Or
an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special skills
and/or requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal,
negotiation and decision-making skills
- Ability to work on committees
and in a teamwork setting
- A strong desire to help all managers and staff
in solving their space problems
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
Premises
Assistant
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under the general supervision
of the Facilities Administrator, the incumbent is responsible for property
management duties
including systems furniture maintenance and reconfigurations, and assisting
in setting up contracts, schedules and processes, to carry out redevelopment
work in all the Corporation’s properties and facilities, as well
as supervising and co-ordinating projects, as they are identified.
The incumbent is also looks after the day to day functions of the Accounts
Payable section of the department.
Other responsibilities include the review of the general ledger and developing
preliminary variance analysis, arranging for emergency and general repairs
at Eaton Place and other claims centres, administering the Grants in Lieu
of Tax Program, and other departmental accounting duties.
The incumbent is also responsible for the maintenance and programming
of the Card Access Security system for Eaton Place, as well as the manual
lock-up system and associated keying as well as processing MTS orders and
handling trouble calls
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade XII with some formal training in manual
and computerized accounting procedures, preferably in Lawson Accounting
- Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in an office and
accounting environment, preferably with a commercial real estate firm
- Incumbent
should have significant experience in developing and managing budgets
- The
incumbent must have experience in dealing with people and providing
service in a number of property management areas
- Or an equivalent combination
of education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- The incumbent must have good oral
and written communication skills
- Must be well organized and accurate with
figures
- Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision
- Must work well under
pressure and must be able to meet critical deadlines
- Must have the physical
strength and ability to install and move heavy furniture components
- Must
have a valid driver’s licence
Premises
Co-ordinator
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under general supervision and reporting to
the Premises/Facilities Administrator, the Premises Co-ordinator is responsible
for the day to day property/facilities management of the Corporations
leased or owned properties throughout the Province. This involves, the
preparation of tenders and specifications, contracting and project management,
as well as maintenance, structural and infrastructure projects, space
planning, office renovations, inspecting and providing full property/facilities
management services for all MPI properties.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum Grade XII
- The successful completion of recognized building technology
program and/or a formal Property
- Management or Facilities Management
Certificate
Program
- Experience:
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Ability to analyze problems, develop
solutions, perform cost comparisons, produce cost estimates and to
write technical reports to recommend
viable solutions as required
- Strong interpersonal skills
are required and ability to develop good working relationships with
persons at
all levels
- Knowledge of current building codes, various
Acts and legislation relating to buildings preferred
- Must possess a
valid Manitoba drivers licence
