Broker
Enquiry Representative
Work Location: Winnipeg
Reporting to the Broker Enquiry Supervisor, the Broker Enquiry Representative provides the single contact point for services for over 300 brokerages and 1,500 brokers. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of all transactions in the system as they pertain to financial integrity, road safety and fraud prevention. This position is responsible to ensure that brokers are adhering to MPI business rules, policies, procedures and various Acts and Regulations. Required to complete broker transactions with some measure of judgment while operating within established MPI business rules, policies and procedures.
B.E. Representatives also provide operational support to other internal IWS users including DVL Branch offices, Mobile Testing Units, DVL Satellite offices, Identity Verification Unit, Claim Centres, Service Centres, Salvage Departments, Call Center, and SIU.
Additional responsibilities include administering overrides, exceptions, processing account adjustments and corrections and instructing brokers and other IWS users on workarounds necessary for transaction processing. Recommends improvements to procedures and practices and provide insight to project teams, as required.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade XII and supplementary courses in Customer Service or Customer Relations
- Experience:
- Three years of customer service and administrative office experience, of which a minimum of one year is in the automobile insurance industry working with MPI products and services – including vehicle registration and insurance, driver licensing, and experience with IWS
- Special
skills and/or requirements:
- Knowledgeable about MPI’s products and services including Autopac products (basic & extension and Special Risk Extension (SRE) products), driver licensing services, Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP), and enhanced identity cards.
- Working knowledge of MPI’s policies and procedures, the Driver and Vehicle Act (DVA), the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), the Off-Road Vehicle Act (ORV Act), Retail Sales Tax Act (RST Act), and privacy legislation.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Superior listening and comprehensive skills and interviewing ability
- Demonstrated initiative and proven ability to be resourceful

Business
Analyst
Work Location: Winnipeg
Plans and conducts business studies to resolve
moderately complex business problems and presents solutions, which will
result in new products and services. Solutions will, in most cases, impact
other divisions, external agencies, brokers and/or customers. In the
capacity of a project leader, co-ordinates the implementation of solutions
in user areas.

Customer
Service Representative
Work Location: Winnipeg
Reporting to the Supervisor, MPI
Customer Service Centre, the incumbent is required to address the specific
needs of each on-site customer
in a manner which reflects MPIs commitment to ensuring that the customer’s
interests come first at all times. Additionally, as a primary user of the
Autopac On-Line vehicle registration and insurance system, the incumbent
identifies
policies, procedures and practices which fail to generate high levels of
customer satisfaction and suggests recommendations and strategies to improve
same.
The unique challenge of this position is to create customer service experiences
that are meaningful and effective - experiences in which the customers
feel welcome and feel that MPI is truly committed to addressing their concerns
and resolving their issues in a fair and equitable manner.
Qualifications:

- Experience:
- Three (3) years experience in the automobile insurance industry
of which at least two (2) years involved direct contact with
customers for the purpose of providing service relating to MPI products
- Or
an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

- Must have a strong working knowledge
of the issues and requirements surrounding Manitoba’s vehicle registration and
insurance system – this
includes a thorough knowledge of all aspects of Autopac Online
(IWS & Batch)

Special
Investigator
Work Location: Winnipeg
To be responsible and accountable for the
investigation, evaluation, monitoring and management of assigned investigations,
court preparation and testimony. Work in the best interest of the client
while at the same time protecting MPIs interest. To investigate and report
on found trends, proactively identifying concerns and opportunities for
fraud. To assist in the training of claims personnel in order to significantly
increase their level of fraud awareness.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of a recognized Canadian
Police College with specialized training in criminology and techniques
of investigation including fraud, vehicle
theft and arson.
- Experience
- A minimum of ten years investigative experience as a Peace
Officer where the techniques of investigation have been learned and
applied.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special
skills and/or requirements.
- Current knowledge and understanding of the
Criminal Code of Canada and its application, the civil justice system,
Federal and Provincial
statutes applicable to the investigation of insurance
fraud including the M.P.I. Act and the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act
- Demonstrated
ability to conduct complex investigations, ensuring that all evidence
is collected, maintained and presented
in a manner acceptable to the Courts until the completion of the
trial and any
resulting appeals.
- Able to handle potentially dangerous
and/or volatile situations effectively while ensuring the safety of
oneself and others.
- Effective interpersonal and communication
skills
- Ability to write clear, concise and informative reports
- Work independently
by planning work schedule, setting priorities and utilizing time effectively

Senior
Business Analyst
Work Location: Winnipeg
Directs the planning and development of business
studies to resolve complex business problems and present solutions. This
may include directing staff in the development of requirements and specifications,
work plans, test plans, technical documentation, training, release schedules
and risk mitigation. May also include testing the functions, data integrity,
system balancing, providing quality assurance for all user outputs, output
distribution and scheduling of all time driven processes.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Four year computer science degree or university
degree
Supplementary courses for system testing, project management, supervisory
and interpersonal skills are required
- Experience:
- Seven to ten years of related experience of which at least
five is in an insurance environment
- Or an equivalent combination of
education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Must be able to work in an environment
that requires multiple on-going activities all of which have tight
deadlines and have a degree of risk
leading to significant stress at certain points in time
during the year
