Information Technology

Analyst
Work Location: Winnipeg

Reporting to a Team Leader, the incumbent works with CIT clients to analyze, plan, organize and develop computer systems. As a member of the project team, produces deliverables specific to each phase of the systems development process while providing analytical support to other team members. May lead smaller projects or co-ordinate other staff as required.

May act as a technical specialist to a project.

Under the direction of a Supervisor (IT Services) or a Senior IT Analyst, the IT Administrator is responsible for common technical or administrative tasks in the ongoing maintenance of the MPI computing complex. This is an administrator or technician who often works cooperatively in teams when handling complicated concerns, but works independently on routine duties.

Under the direction of a Supervisor, (IT Services) or a Senior IT Analyst, an IT Analyst is responsible for advanced support in the implementation and maintenance of the MPI computing environment, and is very experienced in determining how technology helps the corporate client and customer. This is a senior specialist responsible for current and future technical support, and often acts as a project leader for technical projects within his/her group. The position is specific to one technical discipline in IT Services, e.g., networks, servers, etc.

Under the direction of a Supervisor, (IT Services) or a Senior IT Analyst, the Senior IT Support Analyst is responsible for analytical support in the implementation and maintenance of the MPI computing environment, and is a proactively involved in determining how technology helps the corporate client and customer. This is a junior specialist responsible for technical support issues and problems, and often works cooperatively in teams when resolving complex concerns, but works independently on routine problems and administrative duties.

Under the direction of the Staff Development Consultant and working as part of a team, is responsible for producing computer-based multimedia training applications, administering the multimedia training centre and assisting participant learning.

Programmer/Analyst

Under the direction of a Senior Analyst, and working as part of a team, responsible for producing deliverables specific to each phase of the systems development process.

Reporting to a Senior Analyst and under the coaching and direction of a senior member of the CIS staff, design program logic, code and test programs as part of a project team. Deliverables will be completed according to CIT standards and practices.

This is normally an entry level position for external hires preparing them for the Programmer/Analyst position within 12 to 24 months. Promotion is dependent upon the incumbent’s demonstrated proficiency at the assigned duties.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, the incumbent works directly with CIT clients to analyze complex business problems and develop solutions to these problems. Often leads projects or is a team leader on larger, more significant, CIT projects.

This is an experienced specialist responsible for routine technical support issues and problems, and often works independently in assisting clients and resolving concerns. Senior Multimedia Application Developer
Work Location: Winnipeg

Under the direction of the Manager, ODST and working as part of a team, the incumbent is responsible for managing the development and implementation of projects related to computer based training applications. This includes managing the projects and participating in their design and development. In addition the incumbent is responsible for supervising the multimedia developer, as well as designing, developing and delivering training on multimedia application development tools used by MPI employees.
