Collection
Officer
Work Location: Winnipeg
Responsible for the monitoring and control
of all Judgment and Promissory Note payment arrangements and follow-up
on delinquent accounts. In addition, the incumbent must initiate alternative
actions (driving restrictions, collection agency, legal, etc.) when required.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Total of 3 course credits from:
- Insurance Institute of Canada
- Case Management Certificate Program
- Management Studies Certificate

- Credit Institute of Canada (F.C.I)
- Experience:
- Four years of office experience
- Claims/Collection/Legal environment
(preferred)
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special
skills and/or requirements:
- Superior organizational skills

Legal
Processor
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under the general supervision of the Solicitor
II, Special Account Services, the incumbent is responsible for reviewing
files to determine if court action is appropriate, initiating and following
up on actions and representing the Corporation in Small Claims Court.
In addition, the incumbent is responsible for other legal processes i.e.
prepare Small Claim orders, garnishee orders, bankruptcy files, etc.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Total of 4 course credits from:
- Insurance Institute of Canada
- Case Management Certificate Program
- Management Studies Certificate Program
- Credit Institute of Canada (F.C.I)
- Experience:
- Four years Claims/Collection/Legal experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:

- Superior investigation and negotiation
skills
- Superior oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal

Skip
Tracer
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under general supervision, locates individuals,
companies, assets, income, etc. for all collection staff and occasionally
assists in collections.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Experience:
- Three years of skip tracing experience including
exposure to collections
- Special skills and/or requirements.
- Basic knowledge of Collection
Practices and Consumer Protection Act, the Young Offender
and Parental Responsibility Act,
and the civil court system
- A developed list of usable contacts is required
- Proficient in
applicable office software
- Excellent oral and negotiation skills
- Proven skip tracing abilities-result
orientated
- Demonstrated working knowledge of numerous personal and
company information data sources. This includes, but is not
restricted to, credit reports and the internet
- Must pass a criminal record check
- Strong analytical and organizational
skills
- OR an equivalent combination of the above
Special
Accounts Investigator
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under the general supervision of the Special
Accounts Supervisor, is responsible for locating individuals/businesses,
whose whereabouts are not attainable from "Basic Sources",
for the purposes of subrogation, investigation, civil litigation and
Crown prosecutions. For subrogation cases will also attempt to collect
from the individuals who are in default. Will also act as the primary
trainer for all collection staff.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Enrolment in the F.C.I. (Credit Management) course
preferred
- Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of full time skiptracing experience
with at least one (1) year of collection experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Collection Practices Act and Consumer Protection
Act
- Basic knowledge of the court system
- A developed list of usable contacts
is required
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office system
- Strong
interpersonal and negotiation skills
- A proven ability to use various collection
approaches ranging from soft to very aggressive, results orientated.

Senior
Collection Officer
Work Location: Winnipeg
Under supervision the incumbent is primarily
responsible for recoveries of claims involving individuals who are in
breach or uninsured situations /or vandalism, theft, arson, or fraud.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Total of 4 course credits from:
- Insurance Institute of Canada
- Case Management Certificate Program
- Management Studies Certificate Program
- Credit Institute of Canada (F.C.I.)
- Experience:
- Four years of office experience including 2 years in a Claims/Collection
environment
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong investigation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated analytical & decision
making skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Solid working knowledge of the MPIC Act,
