Case Management
Case
Manager
Work Location: Various - Manitoba
Under general supervision, responsible for
case managing injury claims of a moderate complexity/severity originating
in or out of province. Claims handling includes IRI, impairment and personal
care, which are typically soft tissue injury or fracture. May occasionally
handle chronic pain cases.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Three years
as a Medex Case Manager
- Total of six course credits (or degree/diploma
and four course credits) from:
- Insurance Institute
- Case Management Certificate
Program
- Management Studies Certificate Program
- Supervisory
Development Program (In-house):
five Level-1 courses equal one course credit
-or-
- Community College Diploma
in Business Administration or a general university degree and five
years related experience in
a technical, non-trainee
position.
-or-
- R.N., B.N., B.S.W., B. Medical
Rehabilitation or
B.A. (Psychology Major) and three years related experience in a technical,
non-trainee position.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Special
skills and/or requirements:

Medex
Case Manager
Work Location: Various - Manitoba
Under general supervision investigates, assesses,
case manages and administers benefits for minor PIPP claims.
Qualifications:
- Education and
Experience:
- One year as an Associate Adjuster and/or
Adjuster.
- Successful completion of the Associate Adjuster /Medex
Case Manager qualification test.
- Total of four course credits
(or degree/diploma and two course credits) from:
- Insurance Institute
- Case Management Certificate Program
-or-
- Community College Diploma in Business Administration
or a general university degree and one year related experience
in a technical, non-trainee position.
-or-
- R.N., B.N., B.S.W., B. Medical Rehabilitation
or
B.A. (Psychology Major).
- Or an equivalent combination of education
and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements:
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Rehabilitation
Services Specialist
Work Location: Winnipeg
The Rehabilitation Services Specialist provides
cost effective case management of IRI and other complex PIPP files, and
corporate employee disability files. The incumbent provides immediate
intervention and case management for clients who are in crisis, suicidal,
aggressive or threatening, or suffer from severe mental health issues.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- BSW or degree in a related discipline, e.g. social sciences,
human resources
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in psychological/psychiatric
services and/or disability management, and case management
- Experience
working with clients with multiple barriers
- Or an equivalent combination
of education and/or experience
- Skills/Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
- Demonstrated ability
to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability
to work independently and strong problem solving abilities
- Demonstrated
ability to deal effectively with confrontation as well as stressful
situations
- Ability
to complete accurate suicide risk assessment and intervene effectively
- Ability
to demonstrate effective listening skills, empathy, and appropriate
counselling skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of current psychological theories and pain
management, motivation, human behaviour, personality disorders
- Thorough
knowledge of community resources
- Must have a driver’s licence
and be willing to be called upon to provide emergency response
when required.
This may include
working some evenings and weekends.
- Administrative knowledge of
team case management
Senior
Case Manager
Work Location: Various - Manitoba
Under general supervision, is responsible
for case managing the most complex, severe injury claims, both in and
out of province. Facilitates the rehabilitation of catastrophically injured
claimants and/or the management of complex soft tissue chronic pain disability
cases.
Qualifications:
- Education and
Experience:
- Three years as a Case Manager
- Total of eight
course credits (or degree/diploma and six course credits) from:
- Insurance Institute
- Case Management Certificate Program
- Management Studies Certificate Program
- Supervisory Development Program (In-house):
five Level-1 courses equal one course credit
-or-
- Community College Diploma in Business
Administration or a general university degree and five years related
experience
in a senior technical position.
-or-
- R.N., B.N., B.S.W., B. Medical Rehabilitation
or
B.A. (Psychology Major) and three years related experience in a
senior technical position.
- Or an equivalent combination of education
and/or experience
- Special skills and/or requirements.
- Must be able to travel
to perform these duties.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical & decision
making skills
- Valid Driver's Licence
- For Norway House/Portage La Prairie service areas:
- Knowledge of the
Aboriginal culture
- Knowledge of Aboriginal Languages or French Language
is preferred
