Auto Theft > Auto theft and your deductible

If you’ve purchased a reduced deductible of $200 or $100, your deductible will be waived in the event of a successful or attempted theft of your vehicle.

If you have the basic $500 or optional $300 deductible you will be responsible for the full deductible if your vehicle is stolen. However, if the stolen vehicle shows evidence that an anti-theft device was properly in use and defeated, your deductible will be reduced by 50 per cent.

In the case of partial theft (a type of vandalism), you will be responsible for paying the deductible.  An example would be a stolen factory or aftermarket sound or video system.
