Income Replacement Indemnity (IRI) Extension
Income Replacement Indemnity (IRI) Extension coverage is specially designed for those Manitobans who earn in excess of $76,000 annually.
Currently, under the Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP), if you're injured in an automobile accident and unable to work, you receive 90% of your net income, limited to a maximum gross yearly income of $76,000. The IRI Extension coverage is designed to cover those who earn more than the maximum yearly income insured under PIPP.
Our package offers you the opportunity to "top-up" the standard Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP) coverage in order to maintain your pre-accident income if you're injured in a motor vehicle accident and unable to work.
Keep in mind that this is not a "guaranteed" policy. If you purchase $200,000 in IRI extension coverage, we won't automatically use this limit to calculate your entitlement. Just like with PIPP, we'll determine your entitlement based on your actual income loss.
