How to sponsor candidates
You decide who to sponsor. No one understands your recruitment needs better than you, so you screen and select the candidates you wish to sponsor. Review your potential candidate’s application package as an added information tool during your screening process.
Agree on the terms of employment
Before you can sponsor a recruit you and the driver candidate must agree to the terms of employment, including rate of pay* and hours to be worked. The program requires that you prepare a contract between your company and the candidate. The contract should address the areas outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding, including:
*Candidate's pay must be in compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
Sign a sponsorship letter
Next, your firm signs your select candidate’s sponsorship letter to confirm that you agree to sponsor his or her on-the-job training, mentoring and provide employment. Please consult with your candidate on which approved driving school you would like them to approach for enrollment. Once the candidate has enrolled, they must provide the sponsorship letter to the Program Administrator.
