Buckling up

Rear facing and forward facing

• Chest clip should be placed at armpit level.
• Harness straps should be snug.
• One finger tight between the strap and the collar bone for rear facing
• One finger tight between the strap and the chest for forward facing 
• Harness straps should be:
• At or below shoulders for rear facing
• At or above shoulders for forward facing
• Harness straps flat, not twisted       
• Head and neck fully protected
• For rear facing mode the top of head should be no closer than one inch from top of child car seat.
• For forward facing mode, the middle of ears should not go past top of child car seat.

Booster

Lap belt should sit low on the hips, and shoulder belt should be over the shoulder and across the chest. A booster seat should never be used with only a lap belt.
