It's still winter - drive safely

Recent warm weather and lack of snow may have had some of us thinking and acting like it's summer already. Today's blowing snow and reduced visibility reminds us it's still winter and we need to drive accordingly.

Here are a few reminders to help get us through what's hopefully the last winter driving of the year:

  • BE SEEN. Blowing snow can mean poor visibility. Keep your
       headlights on even in daytime.

  • Avoid making sudden changes in direction that could take other
drivers by surprise. Signal lane changes and turns well in advance.

  • Speed limits aren't goals - they're maximums under IDEAL
conditions! SLOW DOWN when conditions are poor.

  • Maintain a RoadWise distance of about six seconds between you
and the vehicle ahead of you when the road is slippery and
       visibility is reduced.

  • RoadWise Tip

You are the best safety feature your vehicle has. The ability to control your vehicle on the road may save a life - it could be yours!
