Snowmobiles

Riding the trails on your snowmobile can be a great way to enjoy the winter. But snowmobiles have unique hazards that riders must understand to enjoy safely.

To protect yourself from a collision, drive at a safe speed and never ride impaired by drugs or alcohol.

You should always wear an approved helmet that fits properly.

Know the area you are riding in and stay on groomed trails. You must have a valid snopass to ride on designated SNOMAN trails.

When crossing a highway, stop and cross at a right angle when safe.

Insurance is not required in all cases, but is strongly recommended. Check with your broker to see if you're covered for personal injury or property damage because you may be exposed to lawsuits.

Drivers can help avoid a collision by being aware of snowmobiles in ditches and at trail crossings. If you see a snowmobile, slow down.

Be safe and enjoy the ride.
