Driver Safety Rating

Manitoba Public Insurance has a new way of rewarding and reinforcing safe driving behaviour. It’s called the Driver Safety Rating.

Your Driver Safety Rating is a position on a scale with levels. Where you are placed initially and your movement on the scale depends on your driving. Drive safely and you can move up the scale, save money and earn up to 15 merits. For each year you drive safely you will earn one merit.

Traffic convictions or at-fault collisions will move you down the scale and cost you money. Each at-fault collision in the past year drops your Driver Safety Rating by 5 levels.

The more serious the driving conviction the more you’ll move down the scale and the more it will cost you.

So drive safely and get in the green.
