Financial Assistance for Apprentices in the Collision Repair Industry
Manitoba Public Insurance is committed to ensuring that vehicle owners will continue to have access to high quality repairs when needed. We offer financial assistance to apprentices in the Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Program and the Motor Vehicle Body Painter Program, provided through Apprenticeship Manitoba.
Manitoba Public Insurance provides the following financial assistance:
These grants will help to attract and retain a skilled collision repair workforce in Manitoba, and a strong working relationship between the trade and Manitoba Public Insurance.
The financial assistance program is offered through a four-year agreement among the Automotive Trades Association, Manitoba Motor Dealers Association and Manitoba Public Insurance. This program expires Dec. 31, 2013. The Tool Allowance will be applied for those who have completed level one of either program and have purchased tools after Jan. 1, 2010. The Apprenticeship Grant will be applied for those who completed any program level after Jan. 1, 2010.

Skills Canada Manitoba
The corporation sponsors this organization’s annual Skills Manitoba competition, which rewards and encourages excellence among automotive trade students. We also sponsor the organization’s annual Young Women's Conference and host Technology Days tours at our Physical Damage Centre. These events help young people learn about automotive careers and the education choices that can lead to them.
Automotive Trades Scholarships
The Corporation provides high school and post secondary scholarships to the top three Skills' Canada Manitoba competitors in Autobody Repair (Collision), Auto Service (Mechanical), and Auto Painting. Through the Red River Exhibition Foundation, we also sponsor scholarships for high school and post secondary students.
