Vehicle Claim > Evaluating & Repairing Your Vehicle Damage

Selecting a Shop

We want to ensure you are satisfied with the claims service we provide. In the case of damaged vehicles, that means ensuring repairs to your vehicle are done by the most qualified people, using the best and most up-to date techniques, equipment and replacement parts available. When you drive your vehicle home from the repair shop, you need to be confident that it is back to its pre-accident condition. One way to ensure this is through post-repair checks.

We recommend you use Manitoba Public Insurance Accredited Repair Shops to ensure your vehicle gets the best repairs. To qualify for Manitoba Public Insurance accreditation, repair shops must meet or exceed industry standards in equipment, technology and training. This includes participation in the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair [I-CAR] Gold Class Designation Program. A list of Things to Look For will assist you with your shop selection.

The I-CAR Gold Class certification tells you the shop personnel have taken I-CAR training courses and are proficient in all phases of auto repair-from unibody work to use of new metals and plastics to the latest in painting techniques. We are proud of our partnership with I-CAR because it sets the standard for auto body repair that ensures passenger safety and cost-efficiency.

Through Manitoba Public Insurance's commitment to using I-CAR standards as the basis of our body shop accreditation program, Manitoba repair shops represent more than half (52 per cent) of all Gold Class certified shops in Canada. Per capita, Manitoba is the most highly-trained I-CAR region in North America with 350 accredited repair shops.

All repairs done at Manitoba Public Insurance accredited repair shops are guaranteed. If you aren't satisfied with the repairs report it to the shop immediately. If you don't receive satisfaction, discuss the problem with your Manitoba Public Insurance estimator - remember, protecting Manitoba motorists is our business.
