Deductibles > How Deductibles Work
When No Deductible Applies
If you have either a $200 or $100 deductible, you will
not pay a deductible if you collide with a wild animal or if your vehicle
requires glass repair. (A deductible does apply on glass replacement.)
With the $200 or $100 deductible, no deductible applies in the event of a
successful or attempted theft of your vehicle—provided there
is clear evidence of intent to steal. Without that evidence, the
claim is considered vandalism and you are responsible
for paying the deductible.
If you have the basic $500 or optional $300 deductible you will be responsible for the full deductible if your vehicle is stolen. However, if the stolen vehicle shows evidence that an anti-theft device was properly in use and defeated, your deductible will be reduced by 50 per cent.
Deductibles and Glass Damage
If you have a $500 deductible, it applies to all glass claims. If you have a $300, $200 or $100 deductible, your deductible is $300, $200 or $100 respectively for glass replacement claims, and zero for glass repair claims.
