Registration > Death-Related Ownership Transfers

When the registered owner dies, the vehicle registration remains valid until it expires or it's cancelled. However, you must notify us, through your Autopac agent, about the owner's death.

Transferring ownership from the deceased to a new owner requires certain documentation. Ask your insurance broker about the documents and the steps required for transferring ownership in your particular situation.
