Once you have been approved for an EDL or EIC, you will be entitled to your card for at least five years. In order to bring EDL and EIC renewals in line with Manitoba Public Insurance’s 365-day renewal system, the exact length of validity for the first EDL and EIC cards that will be issued will vary based on the cardholder’s date of birth. In the future, however, the EDL and EIC will be valid for a period of up to five years.
